To erase her emotions, Gabrielle decides to purify her DNA using a machine that immerses her in her past lives. There, she repeatedly encounters a man named Louis with whom she feels a powerful connection that she cannot place. At the same time, she feels a fearful sensation, as if a disaster is imminent.

The Beast is a romantic sci-fi thriller exploring the influence of AI on human uniqueness. Across three time periods, director Bertrand Bonello examines, in a Lynchian way, the power of emotions and the potential disappearance of humanity in society.
Loosely based on Henry James’s novel The Beast in the Jungle, this contemporary film premiered at the Venice Film Festival, praised for its overwhelming cinematic experience and the strong chemistry between lead actors Léa Seydoux and George MacKay.
