When Julie turns 30, she feels like her life has come to a standstill. Her friends are having children and are happy, and her relationship with the older, successful cartoonist Aksel is stable. Yet Julie wonders if this is all life has to offer. When she meets the younger and handsome Eivind, Julie changes course in the hope of finding answers about love, her career, and life.
The Worst Person in the World was selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival. Lead actress Renate Reinsve won the Palm for Best Actress. After Reprise (2006) and Oslo, 31. August (2011), The Worst Person in the World is also seen as the final part of Trier’s Oslo trilogy.
