Acclaimed filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi – better known as Los Javis – transform Lorca’s unfinished work into a bold, breathtaking queer epic about the stories that were silenced for generations. Ambitious, emotionally charged and visually stunning, La Bola Negra brings together an extraordinary ensemble cast, including Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, Milo Quifes, Lola Dueñas, Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close.
A festival sensation and one of the most talked-about films of the year. La Bola Negra has taken the international festival circuit by storm. Calvo and Ambrossi won Best Director at Cannes, before the film went on to claim the coveted People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. With these major accolades already under its belt, La Bola Negra has firmly established itself as a film to watch – and a serious contender as awards season approaches.
